Who are we: UNITE HERE Local 1 represents more than 10,000 members who work in hotels, casinos, dining halls, and restaurants. Our members, most of whom are women and people of color, work for some of the largest and richest companies in the region and the world. Workers in our union are confronting corporate greed and racial injustice by organizing strikes, winning union elections, and fighting for better quality of life at our workplaces.
The apprenticeship program: Through our apprenticeship program, you can learn to organize workers to win dignity and respect on the job and in our communities. We are looking for people who are excited to organize workers face-to-face, unafraid to be challenged to learn new skills, and who possess a drive to win economic justice. This apprenticeship will train you on basic and advanced organizing skills through close work with our staff organizers. Familiarity or experience in the service and hospitality industry is a plus.
To Apply:
Contact UNITEHERELocal1Recruit@gmail.com and tell us in 3-5 sentences who you are and why you’re excited to be a part of this movement and join the fight for economic justice
