Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Tax Preparer with 1–2 years of experience to join our Towson office. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in individual tax preparation, is eager to learn more complex areas, and enjoys working directly with clients. You’ll work closely with experienced CPAs and be involved in a variety of tax engagements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual income tax returns (1040s)
• Assist with small business returns (Schedule C, partnerships, and S corporations) as applicable
• Gather, organize, and review client tax documentation
• Identify potential tax-saving opportunities and communicate questions or findings
• Maintain accurate workpapers and follow firm procedures
• Support clients with a warm, professional, and responsive approach
• Assist with basic accounting tasks, if needed, during non-peak months
• Collaborate with the team to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables

Required Qualifications

• 1–2 years of tax preparation experience (public accounting experience preferred)
• Working knowledge of individual tax fundamentals
• Strong attention to detail and comfort reviewing financial documents
• Ability to communicate clearly with clients and team members
• Familiarity with tax preparation software (we can train on specifics)
• Desire to grow professionally and take on increasing responsibility

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

• Experience with small business returns (1120S, 1065)
• Coursework or progress toward EA or CPA
