Position Information Position Title Mail and Printing Services Clerk Job Responsibilities The mailroom at Truman State University provides a crucial service, carrying out a range of tasks essential to the university's day-to-day operations. While this position's primary duty is to oversee the campus mailroom, this position will also assist the printing services department as needed. This is a full-time, benefit eligible position at a starting wage of $16.07 per hour.   • Handle incoming and outgoing mail on a daily basis.
  • Assist in hiring, training and overseeing student workers
  • Provide support to students, faculty and staff who require assistance with mailing functions
  • Perform administrative tasks in support of the mailroom and other duties as assigned.
Printing Responsibilities
  • Print and read tickets for printing service requests submitted by students, faculty and staff; must be able to understand and apply all written and verbal instructions to ensure a quality product.
  • Perform routine quality checks and document results to ensure consistency
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to use basic math and measuring skills
  • Required to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time
  • Frequent lifting (light to moderate weights) and bending; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
  • Ability to remain organized and self-directed in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to learn computer applications as necessary for the position, as well as ability to use other office equipment
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow verbal and written instructions, work procedures and other related materials
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong customer service skills
  • May be required to perform concentrated work for extended periods of time
