About the Role We are partnering with a leading global organization in the consumer-packaged goods industry to recruit a Global Mobility Tax Specialist. This position plays a critical role in supporting the company’s international mobility program by advising on global individual tax matters, ensuring compliance across jurisdictions, improving tax-related processes, and enhancing the experience of mobile employees. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and external vendors, serving as the key subject matter expert on expatriate and international tax considerations.
Job Description In this role, you will act as the primary expert on global mobility tax matters, offering strategic guidance on international assignments, cross-border work arrangements, and mobility tax policies. You will oversee core tax processes including tax equalization, compensation reporting, shadow payroll, and compliance deliverables. Additionally, you will manage relationships with vendors and internal partners, ensuring accurate and timely execution of mobility-related tax services while seeking opportunities for program and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities Global Mobility Tax Expertise - Serve as the mobility tax subject matter expert for internal teams and assignees.
- Advise on assignment planning, tax cost estimates, and individual tax implications.
- Interpret and apply mobility tax policy provisions; escalate issues as appropriate.
- Provide guidance on cross-border remote work requests.
- Conduct benchmarking of tax policy components and recommend updates.
- Deliver communications, training, and education sessions for stakeholders.
- Monitor U.S. and international tax law changes and assess program impact.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal teams, business leaders, and vendors.
- Manage escalations and resolve complex mobility tax matters.
Process Oversight & Operations - Oversee tax equalization collections, calculations, and payments.
- Manage global and domestic mobility payments, invoices, and gross-ups.
- Coordinate shadow payroll and social security agreement processes.
- Support secondment agreements and related compliance requirements.
- Review annual compensation, hypothetical tax, and social tax adjustments.
- Evaluate equity vesting impacts for mobile employees.
- Support and leverage mobility technology platforms for cost estimates and assignment documentation.
Vendor Partnership - Manage relationships with external tax providers to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Review and approve authorization lists for tax services.
- Assess vendor hypothetical tax tables and tax modeling assumptions.
- Review tax invoices, including out-of-scope charges.
- Complete annual reviews and sign-offs of company tax positions in collaboration with vendors.
Qualifications Required Qualifications: - Minimum 5 years of mobility tax experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of expatriate and international individual tax concepts.
- In-house mobility tax experience with a multinational organization.
- Previous experience in a Big Four accounting firm.
- Experience advising on tax matters in the U.S., Switzerland, UK, France, Singapore, Brazil, Australia, and India.
- Experience with mobility platforms such as AssignmentPro (Equus).
- Ability to research and interpret international tax systems independently.
- Familiarity with global assignment tax policies and computations.
- Ability to work effectively with global teams and across time zones.
Preferred Qualifications: - Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Background in the consumer goods or food manufacturing industry.
