Data Center Cabling Technician (Entry–Mid Level)

Location: New Albany or Grove City, OH

Shifts: 1st or 2nd Shift

Schedule: Normally five 10-hour shifts (5x10s). Currently behind schedule, so Saturdays and extended hours are required , averaging ~58 hours per week .

Pay: $22–$25/hr

Type: Contract-to-Hire (6 months)

Job Overview

We are seeking motivated Cabling Technicians to support large-scale data center projects in the Columbus, OH area (New Albany & Grove City). This role is ideal for candidates with construction, warehouse, or low-voltage experience who are looking to grow their careers in the data center industry. You’ll work alongside lead technicians and gain hands-on experience in structured cabling installations.

Job Responsibilities

• Pull, dress, route, and label Cat5e/Cat6 cabling in accordance with TIA/EIA standards
• Assist with RJ45 connector and patch panel terminations (training provided)
• Perform cable labeling and identification
• Learn and complete basic punch-downs on telecom blocks
• Support cable testing using tools such as Fluke or EXFO under supervision
• Gain exposure to fiber optic cable handling and dressing
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized job site
• Take direction from lead technicians and field supervisors

Schedule & Overtime Expectations

• Monday–Friday, 1st or 2nd shift
• Currently behind schedule — candidates must be open to:
  • Saturdays
  • Extended workweeks (approximately 58 hours/week )
• Overtime pay applies

Required Qualifications

• Some experience with cabling, punch-downs, or terminations OR
• Construction, warehouse, or hands-on technical experience
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders up to 20 ft
• Comfortable working in tight or confined spaces
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Must not have worked in a META data center in the past 6 months

Work Environment

• Data center construction environment (indoor)
• Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders throughout the day
• Moderate noise levels
• Must be comfortable working long shifts and overtime
• Safety-focused, fast-paced project environment

Additional Information

• Location: Columbus, OH (New Albany & Grove City projects)
• Start Date: Targeting March 9, 2026
• Drug screen & BGC required

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
